The training I have received through the Drama and Theatre Studies A Level course, as well as the BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts, has been immense, and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. It has improved my confidence as a performer and improved my vocal and physical performance, meaning I no longer adopt a superficial 'showy' style when I perform but instead a deeply informed and mature acting style.
Class Action, the college's enrichment for the Performing Arts has given me and so many others countless opportunities to perform, such as American Idiot which "Rocked the Summer", and it was so much fun working with and learning off other creatives just like myself. Class Action also presents its performers with opportunities to get involved behind the scenes as lighting and sound technicians for all of their shows, which include regular Lunchtime Cabarets and two big productions a year at Christmas and in the summer.
Through my time with college and Class Action, I have been able to explore so many pathways of development that have improved and enhanced my outlook on the industry as a whole. One such pathway it allowed me to explore is a directorial and management role, which I thoroughly enjoy as I have been able to direct a piece with my peer Morton, which we performed on a lunchtime to a public audience. The courses and enrichment as a whole have set me up for the future, allowing me to do something I love - to perform.
